A classic kit, identical in every way to those used by Trappers and Fur Traders of the 18th and 19th century. These little tins were an essential belonging, given to every employee of the Hudson's Bay Company. For over a century they were perfected and refined, to create a life saving little tin that no adventurer would be without. They are still produced today, by one small family who replicate the original manufacturing and design.
Measures 4 1/2" long, by 3" wide.
Each tin includes a bed of Char cloth, Jute String kindling, a magnifying lens, Steel striker and Flinting stone.
Our only product that isn't produced entirely within Canada. We've chosen to include it in our offering because of it's direct connection to the Hudson's Bay Company and the History of the Canadian north. The HBC Kits are made by a small family-run company in the USA.
