Classic Black Walnut Board

Kathy Clarke

A classic board for cutting or serving. A simple and functional product for the kitchen. The Maker cuts and carves each board from a single piece of Canadian hardwood; allowing them to last longer without warping or separation. Finished with a food-safe, natural beeswax.

Measures 8" wide by 18 1/2" long, including handle.

Made on Bowen Island, British Columbia. Kathy Clarke carves each board from a hand-selected log, chosen for its unique grain and pattern. Each log will produce 2-3 boards, each with its own unique wood grain. She is passionate about her craft, and the unique story that each of her creations tells.

Maintenance & Care

Wipe down or wash after use with luke warm water and a non-abrasive soap. Washing with hot water will strip the board of its beeswax finish. Disinfect when needed with vinegar and sea salt. If the board feels dry or begins to fade, use a dry cloth to apply a small coat of food-safe mineral oil or natural beeswax. If large scratches develop over time, lightly sand the board in the direction of the grain, and finish with a coat of food-safe mineral oil.
